Good to Know
-
We are based in Aserradores, by Aposentillo, a small coastal community in Northern Nicaragua.
The drive from Managua airport is about 3 to 3.5 hours depending on traffic.
We pick you up from the airport so you do not need to organise transport yourself.
-
We surf several spots around the area depending on conditions and your level.
The Boom is our home break – a beach break with powerful lefts and rights. It works well for intermediate surfers and is a proper wave for experienced surfers looking to get barreled.
Aposentillo beach is close by and more forgiving, good for beginners and those still building confidence.
Nahualapa is a fun wave that works for most levels depending on the swell.
We also do boat trips to closeby spots.
We do not publish every spot we know – some places are better kept quiet.
-
All levels are welcome. If you are a complete beginner we can organize lessons.
If you are an experienced surfer we know where to take you.
Just tell us your level when you get in touch and we will plan accordingly.
-
The surf is consistent most of the year.
The rainy season runs roughly May to November and can bring good swell.
The dry season from December to April tends to have lighter winds and cleaner conditions.
Both can be excellent depending on what arrives. We can advise on conditions for your specific dates.
-
Surfboards are not included in the package but can be rented for about $20 per board per day.
If you are bringing your own board, let us know and we can advise on the best sizes for the breaks we surf.
-
The BST Surf Package includes airport transfers, accommodation, daily guided surf sessions, transport to all breaks, and all meals including breakfast, lunch and dinner. Coffee available all day.
Surfboard rental, photography, extra boat trips and other activities are available at an additional cost.
-

Quite a lot. We can organise estuary boat trips, the Cosiguina volcano hike,
fishing, horse riding, a visit to Leon city, tours of the Flor de Caña rum distillery, temazcal, and massage.
Most things can be added to your stay or booked on their own.
-
Nicaragua has a low crime rate compared to most countries in Central America.
Aserradores is a small community and generally very safe.
We are with you throughout your stay and happy to answer any questions about getting here before you book.

A few things worth knowing before you fly/enter Nicaragua:
Tourist card: Nicaragua requires a tourist card on arrival at Managua airport (MGA). It costs $10 USD and must be paid in cash. Ideally, have the exact amount ready. Card payments are not accepted at immigration.
Onward ticket: Immigration will ask for proof that you are leaving Nicaragua. This means a return flight, an onward flight to another country, or a bus ticket out. Have it ready on your phone or printed.
Accommodation address: You will need to provide an exact address of where you are staying. A booking confirmation is fine, but it needs to show a specific address.
We will send you the address of your accommodation before you travel so you have it ready.
